Mr. McCormick is highly experienced global consumer goods executive with a deep understanding of brand and trade marketing, operations & supply chain, finance and scaling a business internationally. Mr. McCormick has operated extensively in regulated markets and has led business units with up to 2,500 employees and $3.0 billion in revenues.
Previously, Mr. McCormick was the COO and CFO for KushCo Holdings Inc. the leading provider of ancillary products and services to the US and Canadian cannabis sector. During his tenure, KushCo grew from $20 million in revenues in 2017 to a forecasted $120 million in 2019. This included two major acquisitions, expansion into Canada and development of new product and services offerings in line with the evolution of the cannabis industry.
Mr. McCormick spent the majority of his professional career with British American Tobacco (BAT) where he spent a total of 17 years, 14 of which included living and working overseas. This included CEO and CFO postings in the UK, Argentina, Singapore, Trinidad, Turkey, Indian Ocean Islands and North Africa. Each assignment focused on developing BAT's core brands and presence in the market(s) which improving efficiency and driving the Group's social responsibility agenda.
While each posting held its own opportunities and challenges, notable accomplishments include: launch of a nationwide direct distribution system in Argentina, leading the Asian travel retail business and export unit, launching BAT's entry into Turkey, restructuring the Indian Ocean supply chain including excise reform within Mauritius / Kenya (trade pact) and leading multiple strategic reviews at the global / regional and end market levels.
Mr. McCormick's early professional career included roles in Pepsi-Cola and KPMG Peat Marwick. He holds an MBA from Southern Illinois University and a bachelor's in finance and accounting from Eastern Illinois University. To date, Mr. McCormick has completed 12 marathons including those based in Singapore, Istanbul, Port of Spain and the US.
Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Mattei is a Chartered Professional Accountant and Chartered Accountant (since 1998). He has served in various senior finance and corporate taxation roles across several diverse industries including vertically integrated manufacturing and entertainment media entities. Mr. Mattei's focus throughout his career has been on driving cross functional efficiencies with an entrepreneurial mindset applied to all deliverables.
Mr. Mattei's most recent appointment was as Chief Financial Officer of the Mircom Group of Companies; a privately held, vertically integrated Canadian entity operating in the highly regulated, global fire and life safety marketplace. Mr. Mattei has also served as the Vice President of Taxation at Royal Group Technologies Ltd., a $2 billion international company.
Mr. Mattei is a graduate of the University of Toronto (Economics, Sociology), a graduate of York University (Accounting), and holds an Masters in Business Administration (Finance) from Wilfrid Laurier University.
SVP & Chief Operating Officer
With over 25 years of experience in B2B, B2C and direct-to-consumer sales, Mr. Bard is a senior-level executive and entrepreneur with a wide range of experience in start-up and corporate ventures. Having graduated from Stetson University with a degree in Business Administration and Management, Mr. Bard has had direct responsibility for and managed operations with facilities in North America, South America, Europe and Asia.
Mr. Bard's last two ventures, Alterra and Xyron, Inc., were early stage businesses with proprietary products that they sought to commercialize. As a founder and CEO of Alterra and President of Xyron's Consumer Product Division, Bard successfully guided both companies to rapid revenue growth and very successful exits. He was responsible for the technology and processes leading to ten issued patents. Through his leadership, the company was awarded supplier of the year at Walmart - a very substantial recognition.
Mr. Bard's vast experience allows him to lead Vulcan's supply chain team making sure all our packaging and products meet the highest standards and are procured at the best total landed costs. He also manages Ignite's Brand Management and Sales Teams who work directly with our contracted licensing partners to implement programs to insure that our revenue achieves and surpasses targets.
Global Head of Sales and Marketing
As a highly experienced consumer goods executive with a career spanning nearly 30 years, Mr. Heffernan joins Ignite with a deep understanding of brand marketing, trade marketing, global sales, business development, and high-level management experience. Specifically, having worked for blue chip, publicly held CPG companies like Procter & Gamble and Cadbury Schweppes, Mr. Heffernan is comprehensively experienced in building brand shares in the various classes of trade and routes to market.
Previously, Mr. Heffernan was the VP of Business Development at California Natural Products where he oversaw all sales operations and activities. Before this, he served as the VP of Sales and Marketing for Tri Marine Group and as the VP of Sales and Marketing for the Borges Mediterranean Group. In these positions, he achieved significant brand share growth and private label contracts with Costco, Walmart, Sam's Club, and major grocery store operators.
Mr. Heffernan has established a strong reputation of driving topline results and delivering year over year bottom line growth. With a proven track record in brand experience and sales operations, Mr. Heffernan will lead Ignite's revenue generation and sales organizations to deliver our global expansion targets.
Diana Ritchie brings to Ignite an extensive background in operations, leadership and analysis of financial and strategic forecasting. She has over 25 years of hotel, casino and marketing leadership experience. Diana was the Senior Executive Director of Hotel and Casino Operations for Wynn properties and later International. In addition to her profit engineered leadership, Diana was also the CEO of NCARE (National Center for Autism Research and Development). She led the funding for the non-profit efforts as well as the organizational structure for all future operations. Her leadership continued to benefit to their non-profit organizations through consulting and funding including United Way.
Diana recently held the position of President and COO of the largest marijuana license holder in the State of Nevada. With her fiscal responsibility to the company and expertise in operations, Diana became a recognized leader in this specialized industry by maintaining the regulatory requirements in the vertically integrated entity. Diana created the protocols and internal regulations for her cultivation production, retail and distribution operations to maintain compliance through Nevada and profit for the company. She has a proven track record to help our company gain new ground and more market share as our industry continues to evolve and grow to become the recognized and respected caliber as the leading brand.
Mr. Bernaudo has been immersed in the cannabis world for over 10 years. He brings to Ignite a wealth of knowledge along with a rolodex of key industry leaders and insiders. Mr. Bernaudo was the co-founder of Medileaf, Inc., a company engaged in the research and development of disruptive cannabis products and is known throughout the Canadian cannabis industry for developing a revolutionary cannabis vape formulation (granted a patent by the U.S. Patent Office in mid-2016). His deep experience in the cannabis industry includes consulting, product development, marketing and branding. He also possesses extensive knowledge surrounding cannabis licensing and regulations.
Previously, he served as President, CEO and Executive Producer of a Canadian independent record label where he was responsible for new talent development, branding, marketing, licensing and distribution of music and merchandise both in Canada and Europe.
Mr. Bernaudo went on to launch a successful branding and marketing company that served distinguished music industry clients in Canada and Europe. Mr. Bernaudo owns several successful Toronto-based restaurants and possesses years of expertise setting up and managing retail outlets.
